Visit Crediton Devon and the surrounding villages and stay in b and b, hotel or holiday home accommodation provided by BedPosts members.
Crediton is a busy market town whose church is large enough for a cathedral. In Saxon times Crediton was a centre of Christianity and the See of Devon and Cornwall was here from 909 to 1050, when it was moved to Exeter. It has traditionally been regarded as the birthplace of St Boniface (AD 675 - 754), one of the first Christian preachers in northern Europe. The church, which was founded in Norman times, has the proportions of a cathedral. North of the town, a footpath beside the River Creedy leads to Upton Hellions.
