Visit Redruth Cornwall and the surrounding villages and stay in bandb, hotel or vacation rental accommodation provided by BedPosts members.
Redruth is a small picturesque town in the heart of Cornwall. The name “Redruth” derives from Old Cornish meaning “Red ford”.
It has going on for 15,000 inhabitants. However the conurbation comprising Camborne, Redruth, Carn Brea, Illogan and nearby villages totals about 56,000.
Although this industry is now defunct, it was the mining of copper ore in the 18th century that sparked off the population growth.
Visit: 18th century Church of St Uny; Cornish Studies Centre to view Tregellas Tapestries showing Cornwall's history in embroidery; bronze sculpture of a Cornish miner.
