The town of Lydd, Kent, is on Romney Marsh.

Lydd is busy small town whose 14th-century church is the second in the area to be known as the ‘Cathedral of the Marshes’. It has a panel of mounted 16th-century brasses, and a 15th-century screen. The tower is 130 ft high. The town gave its name to the explosive lyddite, which was first tested on ranges near by in 1888.

Explore Dungeness Beach which, though bleak in appearance, is a wildlife haven for plants and insects.
